Ranking rules below are the live configuration of the recommendation service.

| Declared-audience match | +3 | Content tagged for the reader’s declared profile ranks first. |
| Category affinity | +2 | Overlap between the profile’s interests and content categories. |
| Recency | 0–1 | Newer work gets a small boost within equal relevance. |
| Explanation | required | Every recommendation renders its reason string in the UI — no opaque ranking. |
| Tracking | none | Profiles are visitor-declared; nothing is inferred from clickstreams. |
